Water Filter Pitchers

Water filter pitchers are the kind of water filter that can be bought inexpensively for under $100 at your local shop. Water filter pitchers are a good option for people that are on a tight budget but still want to remove some chlorine and improve the taste of their drinking water. While there are some exceptions, water filter pitchers generally do not remove nearly as many contaminants as other types of water filters.

Water filter pitchers are less costly than countertop, under sink or whole house water filters. With a price point under $100 almost everyone can afford a water filter pitcher.

Maintenance

Water filter pitchers often come with a few filter cartridges included and the cartridges are relitivly cheap themselves, so with a water filter pitcher you wont end up spending a great deal on maintenance. Changing these cartridges is very easy and takes less than 5 minutes.

Convenience

Water filter pitchers are very convenient. You can easily move a water filter pitcher around the house with you. You can bring the pitcher into the bedroom with you at night or even store it in the refrigerator so that your drinking water is ice cold. Some people even get a few water filter pitchers so they can have one in every room.

Most grocery stores or other large retail outlets like Walmart carry both the pitchers and the replacement cartridges. Since water filter pitchers are obtainable at local stores it’s quite easy to buy new filter cartridges when your filter needs replacing without ordering online or traveling far.

Water filter pitchers don’t require any installation like other water filters. You just put the cartridge in and poor water into the top of the pitcher. gravity forces the water through the filter cartridge unit and your water comes out tasting better and with less chlorine.

Disadvantages

Water filter pitchers don’t filter out nearly as many toxins as other varieties of water filters. While there are some exceptions to this rule it’s commonplace for these types of water filters to only eliminate a little chlorine while making your water taste better. You still might end up with other chemicals or toxins in your water.

The only other real disadvantage to water filter pitchers is that they are really only good for drinking water and can’t be used for bathing like a shower water filter or a whole house water filter.
